The first thing you should understand it is that tobacco smoking is terribly harmful, and will kill you in the end if you continue with this bad habit. Bad habit? Yes, smoking is just a bad habit and nothing else. Please don't be deluded into believing that smoking is an addiction. This idea is a deceptive, commercial trick, like everything else in this commercial world in which we live. In reality, smoking is an addiction only if you believe that everything you like to do is an addiction. Otherwise, smoking should be considered a habit, similar to washing your hands before meal. Some people have that habit, while some don't.
Addiction is something which is totally different from a habit. If you are addicted to something, you will die if you quit immediately. If you ask me, people can be addicted to drugs, but only to some of them, like heroin and crack. Marijuana is not addictive; rather, its use is a habit, similar to that of smoking cigarettes. But, we are not talking about smoking marijuana, we are talking about commercial, tobacco cigarettes, and they are killing you more than anything else. I like to say that we are addicted to air, water, and food. All other things we consume are habits.
So, the conclusion of this blog entry is to urge you to get rid of your tobacco bad habit. I know you want to stop smoking because you've searched the Internet for a solution to your bad habit. In order to rid yourself of a bad habit, you'll have to steadfastly replace it with a good habit for at least a month in order to make it stick. I'm not offering a miracle solution. None exists. The three to five weeks that it will take to train yourself not to smoke will be some of the most challenging weeks of your life, but it is your life that I am talking about. Sure, you'll continue to think about smoking; in fact, the urge to smoke will come and go until well after the first few weeks, but thinking about smoking will not kill you. Smoking will.
